Mark Caruso went to Pepperdine University for both his undergraduate and law degrees. He is originally from the Los Angeles area. He is a Californian and New Mexico certified attorney. Up until he got sick of helping insurance companies defraud individuals involved in auto accidents, Mark worked for them. He switched and began assisting these same folks in mishaps.
Moving to New Mexico in 1986, he wed Judy Velarde. 1987 saw the founding of Caruso Law Offices by them together. From 1991 until 1995, Mark was a member of the New Mexico Legislature. Governors of both parties have appointed him to a number of boards and commissions.
Mark Caruso has been recognized with many honors and accolades for his efforts in personal injury and auto accidents. The Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys (ATAA) and state and national trial associations are among his memberships.
Though the law company still only represents victims of automobile and truck accidents, Mark has turned his attention to more serious tractor-trailer and semi-truck incidents. Two jury trials he had in U.S. District Court in New Mexico throughout the last few years resulted in verdicts of $5.5 million and $7.8 million. On the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and how they apply to commercial motor vehicle accidents in New Mexico, Mark is frequently consulted by other attorneys. Attorneys both in-state and out-of-state frequently send Mark Caruso their tractor-trailer and eighteen-wheeler matters.
