Description

Laura Meier is a California Family Trust, Special Needs, and Elder Law attorney. She assists families in preparing for and navigating important life events through effective estate planning, rather than stressing about the 'what ifs'.

Laura launched the Meier Law Firm from her kitchen table in 2010, after leaving the world of huge law firms. With a desire to serve others, she wanted to establish a company where families felt they had a lawyer in the family to whom they could turn for competent legal counsel, compassion, and care. Today, the Meier Law Firm is one of Orange County's leading estate planning businesses, with the greatest online client ratings and an invaluable team of twelve dedicated to improving our clients' lives. Laura is sincerely grateful to the families that have trusted her and her team throughout the years.

Laura is the author of THE FAMILY NEST EGG (Diversion Books and Penguin Random House, 2021), GOOD PARENTS WORRY, GREAT PARENTS PLAN (2014), and the co-host of the IF LIFE WERE PERFECT podcast. Laura has contributed to a variety of national media outlets, including NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, ESPN Radio, NBC Radio, Worth Magazine, The Fiscal Times, and others. She routinely gives financial and estate planning presentations at universities, firms, and non-profit organisations.

Laura worked for a major law firm before starting the Meier Law Firm, where she advised California governments and agencies. She graduated from a top legal school, J. Reuben Clark legal School (BYU) (2003), and earned a B.A. in English from California State University Long Beach, where she played on the Women's Soccer Team in 2000. Laura is an active member of Wealth Counsel and Elder Law Counsel, two nationally recognised programmes for estate planning lawyers that provide excellent training and continuous education.

Most significantly, Laura and Josh are the joyful parents of four wonderful children: Conrad, Jack, Kate, and Andrew. The Meier family lives in Newport Beach and is active in the community, as evidenced by Laura's years of service as a Board Member at United Cerebral Palsy Orange County, a Faith Formation Teacher at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, and District Four Representative on the Newport Beach Environmental Quality Affairs Committee. Laura received the United States Congressional Certificate of Recognition as a Community Hero in 2018 for her public efforts to educate women about money.
